|
Portland, OR
|
Manager, Corporate
Standards
|
2000-2002
|
Accomplishments
|
- Responsible for determining
computer hardware configurations and
identifying what software
applications could be used by
various user groups.
- Implemented a Microsoft Systems
Management Server solution for
software and hardware inventory
control and to push out applications
to computers located throughout
North America.
- Responsible for protecting
desktop computers from viruses.
The company had suffered greatly
from Code Red, Namda and other
malicious viruses. I sourced a
managed solution from various
vendors and then deployed a solution
that allowed me to view the
protection level of 1100 desktop
computers and push out updates to
the protection databases without
involvement from the users.
Since this solution has been in
place, there has been no wide-spread
outages due to viruses.
- Based on my experience in many
areas, I was asked to be a permanent
member of the Technology Team.
This team met once every month to
discuss trends in technology and
make sure that Freightliner was
well-positioned in terms of its
technology direction. I was
the only contractor ever asked to be
a permanent member of this team.
